Medical Weight Management & Metabolic Health Programme With Medication Option

Dr Alsharif offers a medically supervised weight management programme designed to support sustainable weight loss, improved metabolic health and healthy ageing. Rather than focusing on weight loss alone, this programme takes a comprehensive medical approach that considers the underlying hormonal, metabolic and lifestyle factors that influence weight, energy and long-term health.

Excess weight, particularly when linked to insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome, increases the risk of chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, fatty liver disease and inflammatory disorders. Over time, these metabolic imbalances can accelerate biological ageing and affect overall wellbeing. Addressing weight in a structured medical setting can therefore play an important role in improving health outcomes and supporting longevity.

Following a detailed medical assessment, patients may be offered evidence-based weight management medications where appropriate. These treatments work by regulating appetite, improving metabolic signalling and supporting gradual, sustainable weight loss. Medications such as GLP-1 and related therapies may be considered as part of a personalised treatment plan, alongside lifestyle and metabolic health guidance.

This programme includes ongoing medical monitoring and regular health reviews to ensure treatment is safe, effective and tailored to each individual’s needs. Progress is reviewed regularly, medication doses can be adjusted where necessary, and patients receive guidance to support long-term weight maintenance and metabolic health.

This service is suitable for individuals who have struggled with weight despite lifestyle changes, those with insulin resistance or metabolic risk factors, or patients seeking a medically supervised approach to weight management that prioritises long-term health, disease prevention and healthy ageing.
Patients begin with a comprehensive consultation, baseline blood tests to assess their health, discuss treatment options and create a personalised weight and metabolic health plan.

Medical Weight Management Services

1

Metabolic Health Screening

A detailed medical assessment to understand the metabolic factors influencing weight, energy and long-term health. Blood tests and clinical review help identify insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and other risk factors. This allows treatment to be tailored to support sustainable weight loss, disease prevention and healthy ageing.

2

Body Composition Monitoring

Weight alone doesn’t tell the full story. Body composition analysis measures body fat, visceral fat and muscle mass to ensure weight loss is healthy and sustainable. Monitoring these markers helps guide treatment and supports fat loss while preserving
lean muscle and metabolic health.

3

Lifestyle & Metabolic Support

Long-term weight management requires more than medication alone. Patients receive guidance on nutrition, movement, sleep and metabolic health to support sustainable results. This integrated approach helps regulate appetite, improve energy levels and support lasting lifestyle change.
